actually this would pertain to almost all of my close friends... it is pretty much a requirement in the friendship contract that you make fun of people right along side me...

are YOU up for the challenge?
So, right before Thanksgiving I was challenged to run (walk) a mile a day from Thanksgiving until Christmas. I thought "no sweat."
As of today I have run (walked) a total of 1.5 miles. I just started yesterday.
Clearly I was not motivated. I am now, because after that 1.5 miles I already felt skinnier. This is great!
Yes, I wore jean shorts. What evs!

Punch Love Drunk? I wish.
Someone at work called me "punchy" about 5 minutes ago. I am going to choose to take that as a compliment. When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade, right? When life hands me a douche-bag for an ex-husband FOB (father of the babies) I get punchy. My only other option is to cry and I refuse to allow that DB to have that privilege.

Clearly this isn't working...
So I have come to terms that these blogs posts are NOT going to write themselves. Trust me when I tell you... I am constantly thinking up blog posts. Always. I'll be driving and say to myself "self- this thought is a great blog post" and then life happens and I forget what I ate for breakfast and the rest is history. SO.... once I catch you up on the happenings of me, myself, and my littles, I am going to approach this blog thing in a whole new way. I am just gonna post comments or thoughts as they come to me. Not necessarily a long ass story or life-changing post... just whatever. I think I have always put the pressure on myself to post meaty, juicy, long posts and just never got around to it. So, to catch you up on the last 6+ months... here goes:
- I am divorced. It will be "final" in March. At which point the courts stressed to me is when and only when I can then get re-married. I say... hold your horses there county clerk, you think I'm gonna jump into this shit that fast? Ha!
- My BABY turned 2.
- Both boys started school in that they go to a private, Catholic school (PayPal donations to the right please). I actually LOVE the school and they are both absolutely THRIVING!!!
- Jack literally just transitioned into a toddler bed last night.
- Greyson has two girls he refers to as "his ladies."
- I did my 9th annual Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon a few weeks ago.
- I still work where I've always worked.
- We've been to several birthday parties. Our social calendar is usually pretty full.
- My mom has come to visit several times.
- I turned another year older. No need to name any numbers here.
- I'm on the PTG, am a room-mom, and am on several committees at the boys' school.
- I got a KICK-ASS tattoo....

on a *lighter* note
This is NOT a paid endorsement (I only wish), but these candles are seriously the coolest, best smelling, awesomest candles out there. I love that the are made in the ol' USA and they are soy, so they burn cleaner. The scent is light enough that it doesn't make you sick, but strong enough that you get the wisps of it in the air while it's on. Hey, the fact that there is a ring in every candle is like the adult version of Cracker Jack's. errr, I mean the female-adult version of Cracker Jack's. You can find them here : http://www.diamondcandles.com/.

sorry for the detour...
but I need to make some changes in my life and one of them is to be able to actually talk about things I REALLY want to talk about without fear of retaliation b/c certain people who are reading this blog. Sorry fucking sorry if you are offended by something I write, but I am sick of self-editing so certain people don't get mad. So.... I did the chicken-shit thing and changed the address to my blog. Whatever, I'll own up to my chicken-shitted-ness. I'll also ease into this "whole truth" kick I'm on. Don't freak out on me people. OK?
OK... so on a random note... what are some things that you seem to buy over and over again, only to never use through them?
- lip balm
- spices
- certain hair care products
- rubber bands
- toothpicks
- baking powder
What can you add to my list?

Fall is here!
I get so excited for Fall. It would be better if I were in Michigan at this time of year. It is my most favorite time of year in Michigan. The cool air, the great colors. LOVE. In Cali its still pretty HOT. Not very Fall-ish at all. Except for all of the Fall stuff in the stores. Makes me dream of cool nights and getting cozy.
When fall comes around, I also get excited because it's time to make my picks. And I don't mean football, baby. Where most guys gather to comb through player stats and fantasy football teams, I get my list of new and returning TV shows out and plan out my new Fall TV watching schedule. The premieres start sometime around mid-September and continue, through November this year. I figure out when my returning favorites will start up again and which new shows I will give a chance to. I LOVE FALL TV. LOVE. Finally the networks have figured out that Summer TV just sucks and released a few good shows that air in the summer... but the number is like 2. Fall TV is ready to fill up my DVR and that is just so exciting to me. Three cheers for cool weather (I wish), cool colors (palm trees only come in green. boo) and cool TV! 1 out of 3 ain't that bad!

Randomness
Ahhh... I really do THINK about blogging ALL.OF.THE.TIME. But then 8 p.m. rolls around and all I can think of is getting into bed and vegging out in front of the TV.
So in order to cover all the things running through my head I'm going to resort to a list
- Big Dude turned 2 1/2 and little Dude turned 10 months old. Where does the time go?
- Am on week 3 of my marathon training and so far so good. Finding time for the mid-week "runs" is challenging, but I'm doing it.
- Had fun at Baby Loves Disco a few weeks ago
- Looking forward to a wedding that Greyson is in next weekend. Not looking forward to the 6 hour drive there and the 6 hour drive back.
- Going on a business trip to Denver with Claire... although it will be "work" it will be fun too!
- Signed up for an on-line art class. Hope it will be fun.
- with that in mind... I plan to clean out the garage and make a space to call my "art studio" again

The one where Jesus gives me a box of steaks

I have been known to have some crazy dreams. I mean crazy dreams. I have thought about writing a book about my dreams because I think they are that interesting. This one though ranks up there as one of the wackiest.
So I'm at a warehouse and the people are showing us how they operate, etc. They bring out a bunch of huge steaks that are meant to be cooked for our executives. A co-worker of mine accidentally dumps them on the floor and we all react with "awwww... you are in soooo much trouble!" We start to try cleaning them off, perhaps to salvage them. I say "this is Jack in the Box, we don't serve food we dropped on the floor!"
Next scene: Jesus himself comes over to me with a box of steaks and says "these are for your mother." Then he says "Tony will be fine" (a friend of mine, not my husband)... and I say, "is he going to heaven?" and Jesus says "I don't know yet, he's still in processing."
I woke up feeling really good about the part that my friend was going to be ok. I have NEVER EVER had a dream with Jesus or anybody as important as Him in it. That part is VERY interesting to me. Overall, I'd say this dream is pretty wacky, huh?

I'm in one of those moods so there will probably be a lot of cussing in this post
I am at the hair salon. I'm irritated. I only get so many minutes per week that I can call my own. I schedule things precisely so that I spend as little time away from my kids as possible. I know, weird, but that's where I am in life. Anyway, when I make a 3:00 appt to get my hair did, I expect to start at 3, not at 3:30. They can't fake me out by straight ironing my hair before I get it cut, because I can see right through their bullshit stall technique to cover the fact that haircut lady is late. All I want is a plain old, all one length, straight cut. Simple. I have to repeat myself 4 times "cut it as short as you can while still allowing a ponytail.". That wasn't clear so I say "ok, my only request is that I HAVE to be able to have a ponytail, but otherwise cut it short." Still not clear. So I say... "I want it short, but it has to be long enough to pull into a ponytail." Nope. Still not clear. Blog readers, can you please tell me how to word this request next time so I don't lose it on the haircut lady? Shit. It's not a difficult request. In fact, I know I could get it done at Fantastic Sam's, when in fact I am in a reputable Aveda salon. Is it so simple that it is too hard for their overly creative brains to comprehend? OMG.
Then, because haircolor lady is running late, cutlady is doing some bullshit fancy cutting on my blunt, simple, straight cut- spending WAY too much time on each section that I'm about to fucking scream. Look, I'll pay you the $40 whether it takes you 15 minutes or not... Don't sweat it... This is a no-brainer. I'm a sure thing. Cut the fucking hair and go smoke a cig, just GET IT DONE! Color lady finally gets started and now my scalp is burning off. Ahhh, the things we go through.

quickie update
I;m not going to go into why I haven't posted in awhile. See the last post.
Here is a quick update on what's been happening in life:
Here is a quick update on what's been happening in life:
- I am feeling somewhat better... so that's a plus
- Greyson is talking more and more and in longer sentences every day... so cool and so cute!
- Jack started eating proteins... hopefully that will keep him fuller at night so he can get rid of that one night feeding. UGH!
- Greyson is into his "choo choo's" now. So cute watching him play with them. I have to admit I love playing too.
- Projects at work are keeping me busy... not a bad thing. I am actually enjoying it.
- Looking forward to a road-trip to Las Vegas for the 4th of July.
- Just saw "Bridesmaids" the movie and it was FREAKING HILARIOUS!!!!
- I plan to start training for my "come-back" marathon in July. Am getting excited for it!
So yes, I'm still out here, kicking it. I hope to start posting more regularly soon. But don't hold your breath!

a day late... Happy Mother's Day!
Here's hoping all you mothers out there had a great day... the way YOU wanted it to be. For me? A day off was the way to celebrate! And since my husband is going to be gone for a week at a time, I will be getting plenty o' alone time with the kiddos... so I just hung out... ALONE. And I was fine with it! I still got stuff done, so it's not like I was lounging around. But it was just the way I wanted it. Oh yeah, I guess a new iPad would have been fun to find waiting for me on the counter... but a sweet card from the boys was just perfect!
How did you celebrate YOUR Mother's day?

ewwww... that's creeeeepy
So the story behind this picture is that I had a box of diapers that Jack had grown out of so I was bringing them to work to give to a friend that will soon have a new baby. The box has a picture of a baby on it. I put the box in the trunk of my MINIVAN not knowing the surprise I would get.
As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I look back as I am backing out and I see this baby staring at me through a hole in the backseat. OMG... it freaked me out for a split minute. I didn't quite think I left my child in the trunk, but for a few seconds there it definitely made me think about... WTF???
You may have to click on the image to enlarge to get what I mean.
