new little bitty on the left sidebar

OK...  I have to tell someone... so I'm telling you...

I FINALLY learned how to create a BUTTON for this blog.  This might not seem like a big deal to you geek freaks out there that can do this shit in your sleep, but this is major for me.  Coding is like a foreign language... wait it IS a foreign language and I have major difficulty learning foreign languages.  Unless of course that foreign language is Calculus or Algebra... those languages I can rock out.  Aside from that though,  for me to do this is major, just trust me on this one.  So...anyway... the button won't mean much to 99.99% of you, so that is where your excitement will most likely stop.  I just HAD to tell someone and Mabelle is too busy right now shooting a movie (which by the way, I have a part in... more on that when it is released) to listen to my elementary successes.

here is the button, which also lives to the left [eyes left].

Saturday

nothing. nada. zero. zilch.
although I am singing "happy birthday" all day today in hopes that he a) loves my singing so much that he wants to come out and sing with me or b) hates my singing so much he wants to come out and shut me up!

In the meantime... here is a little 1930's ad to entertain you.

Friday...

Nope, not today either.

Just a little FYI-  during this whole pregnancy thing, we were given 3 different due dates.  Obviously, we were going with the one that meant I was pregnant for less time.  January 31.  The very first date we were given was February 6th... and then it was changed to February 4th.  (And then the 3rd date we were given was Jan. 31st).   Well... It looks like the dude it opting for a February date (granted, there is still 1.5 days left in January).

Other than being uncomfortable... I feel fine.  Can't sleep, waddle BIG TIME when I walk, but otherwise I feel fine.  The dude is doing well too.  He gets checked 3 times a week (I've got nothing better to do right?).  So, as far as the doc is concerned, if baby is comfortable, we wait.

The date my doc is using is the Feb. 4th date.  So technically, according to her, I will be "cooked" next Wednesday.  So I'm not even late yet.  So I need to stop whining already.

Thanks for checking up on me...  I have a great group of friends!

Art

I know you guys all want a piece of my original artwork hanging in your homes too... ha ha.

Here is one of my (finally) finished pieces. I have GOT to stop starting projects that risk not being finished before the babe comes. Oh wait, who am I kidding? He's on his own schedule!

Ok... so a friend of mine asked that I post e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y. until the little dude comes, so that on the day that I don't post... you all (yeah, all 3 of you) will know that I am at the hospital. I think I can agree to that. The posts may not be amazingly interesting, but I can do it.
I can also assure you that a blast email will go out to those of you that are on the list (yes, Naomi, Wendy, Rachel, Donna- you are on the list) to update you on the status. My geek husband will have his blackberry and laptop and cell phone and smoke signal machine too...
(why am I acting like so many people care and need to know stat? oh well... whatever makes me feel better about myself, right?).

If you too would like to be on the blast email update list... all it takes is a comment on this blog...

mystery delivery

So I'm sitting on the couch watching tv and the doorbell rings.  Ikea came by to deliver a bed and a dresser.  I'm like, what?  I didn't order anything.... what gives?  Turns out Greyson decided he wants to live in my uterus forever and needs a more comfortable place to sleep... oh and some storage for his... what? birthday suits?  Sheesh kid, seriously?  Sorry if my bladder is not soft enough for your head and that I sometimes crowd you when say, I'M trying to get some sleep, but your days in there are numbered and you already have a bed... and a dresser... and clothes.  Don't you think you're getting a tad too comfortable in there?

The nerve this guy has!  I sent it all back.

I'm still waiting... it's looking more and more like he is going to win though.
<  sigh  >

Etsy update

I have finally put some stuff up for sale on my Etsy shop.  Check it out and buy something, if you are so inclined.  At the very least, spread the word.  (See the link to the right too)

Oh... and I'm a week late posting this pic... but here is my week 37 belly shot...

Chrissy tip

Hey... just found a site that offers *useful* tips for parents.  It's called Parenthacks.  Check it out.  I think they put up a new tip every day.  So far I've put two into use... and I've only been checking this site for a week or so.  Good stuff.  Check it out.

who doesn't love a freebie?

Hey gang... how much blog-surfing do YOU do?  Well, as of late I have been doing more than ever.  I think that it might even start paying off... well, maybe ONE of these days.  Anyway... what I have found is that some popular blogs give stuff away... for free.  Good stuff.  From really cool companies.  Admittedly, my main focus lately has been on baby/kid stuff, so this one blog I have been stalking may not suit YOUR needs.... but it's just an example of what is out there.  Hey, YOU might not want/need baby/kid stuff... but you could always give it to me (ha ha) or to someone you know that has a baby/kid, etc.  Anyway... check out Tangled & True...  they are giving something away everyday... and it costs nothing to enter except a few seconds of your time...  and you just never know... you could come out a winner!  Besides, it's a cool blog to check out even when they are not giving away free stuff.

Point is... it doesn't hurt to blog surf out there... I'm sure other blogs do the same thing from time to time.  In fact I KNOW they do.  So goforit... there are people out in the "real" world that make a living out of entering sweepstakes and the such.  There was even a movie made about it.

if everybody had a surfboard....

Staying at home (without a baby yet) is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Hmmm... never thought I'd say that. One can only spend so much money, ya know! At times I'm a bit bored, although I have a ton of projects I'd love to finish before Grey gets here. One thing I DO enjoy is being able to surf through the million blogs (ok, slight exaggeration) I like to check out regularly. The dangerous part is that THEN I follow some one's link to this or that and think "I have to have one of those too" and so I shop. BTW... I went shopping with the girls yesterday (shout out to Mabelle and Tess) and just HAD to buy the dude a valentine's day outfit. OMG... I can't stop the insanity. I plan to take many many many many pictures of him, so I had to have one for one of my favorite holidays, right? Anyway... my point is now this... check out the cute item I just ordered on Etsy. (I got the matching hat too, duh!) This is going to be so cute for those sweet newborn shots... oi, the cute-ness. Here are some shots (taken from this Etsy shop) to show you what I mean.

Do your teeth hurt yet?

resolutions are so last year...

While in the process of doing one of the last few things that I need to get done before Greyson gets here, I came across my "2008 Resolutions" journal.  Unlike my 25DOD bail-out... I actually kept up with THIS journal and am proud to say that out of the 5 resolutions I made... I achieved 1 by 100%, 1 by 99% (have a baby in 2008, well... I was short by 31 days...but still I am counting it as a "done") and 1 by 100% primarily b/c I was pregnant.  Of the unaccomplished, 1 was also b/c I was pregnant (pregnancy is no time to lose weight), so maybe that shouldn't count this time around.  The one I completely failed at was building Cotton Candy Paperworks to the point that I can actually make money doing it.  Oh well... nobody's perfect, right?

Here is a snapshot of my book.  Basically I listed my resolution and then I tracked it somehow.  It was interesting and fun ti see it to completion.

The word on the street is that resolutions are out and "to-do" lists are in.  I also heard the resolutions are being replaced by wish-lists.

Here is a stab at my "to-do/ wish list" for 2009:
  • Have a baby, continued.
  • Get back into shape immediately, starting with walking 6 out of 7 days a week... building up to running at least 4 days a week.
  • Raise a happy and healthy boy, focusing more on memories and experiences than material possessions, while avoiding the extreme pressure of being smarter than or bigger than, or _______ than the next kid.  As long as my dude is smart, has good manners, has a good personality, is kind and is having FUN... I don't care if the next kid is better at all of the mentioned... there's ALWAYS someone better, faster, smarter, richer, etc... so why the pressure?
  • Become thriftier, save more money (as in using coupons and finding good deals)... since I am a SAHM now... I have to do my part.
  • Start painting more... put more things on Etsy...

Please share YOURS... won't you?

On another note... The Bachelor starts tonight... yippee!!!  I love this sort of trashy t.v.  I felt so bad last season when Jason got the total rejection at the finale... all I can say is HA to Deanna... since she and her boarder dude have already broken up... duh... what did she expect?
